“Ten Ways to Bullet-Proof Your Business: How you can protect your organization from unethical employees”

Kate Nelson has more than thirty years of experience in management, business ethics, and strategic organizational communication. Before joining the faculty in 2006, Kate was a principal and communication practice leader for Mercer HR Consulting in Philadelphia. Earlier, she was a vice president and head of HR communication for Citicorp in New York and held similar positions at Merrill Lynch and Honeywell.    At Citicorp, Kate created The Work Ethic, the first tool of its kind to communicate and train employees in business ethics. It was translated into more than seven languages and was played by more than 65,000 Citicorp employees in 60 countries. The Work Ethic won many awards and was featured in the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, and Fortune. Kate has consulted for many Fortune 500 firms and has been a guest speaker for many organizations including: the Conference Board, Ethics Officers Association, Council of Communication Management, World@Work, and the Society for Human Resources Management.    Kate left Citicorp in 1991 to become a senior fellow in ethics at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, a position she held until the late 1990s. She also has taught at Wharton Executive Education and the University of Delaware. She received her B.A. from the College of Mount St. Vincent and will receive her M.S. in HR management from Temple University. She is co-author, with Linda Klebe Trevino, of the book, Managing Business Ethics (John Wiley & Sons, 5th edition, 2010).
